Meet the Artist- Cody VOID Winko

My name is Cody “Void” Winko and Im a 31 year old artist born and raised in North Central Florida. My artist alias “Void” is sometimes misunderstood as something bad or negative by nature, but for me its an inherent reminder to get out of my own way. A simple Zen concept I was able to borrow from at a young age. I’ve been a tattoo artist since the age 19 and first got serious about art as a freshman in high school. My early influences were kind of eclectic and ranged from comic books and cartoons (America and Japanese), graffiti, fantasy art from the MTG trading card game, to more influential fine artist like M.C. Escher, and Salvador Dalì, and of course tattoos. Over the last decade I’ve got to work with tons of different mediums and traditional approaches to art, and in the last three years I’ve started to embrace digital artwork. I spent about a year working with photoshop and a Wacom tablet before switching to the iPad Pro and Procreate for about 80-90% of all my digital design. I consider myself a multimedia artist at this point and choose to work now with whatever best suits the projects needs. My first digital designs were done for the Trap Team crew about three years ago, both the logo and iconic kawaii turbo design. I’m happy to revisit and release fresh artwork that stays true to their aesthetic. I hope you all enjoy the GT-R Oni graphic and look out for future collaborations and limited drops featuring myself and other artist! Thanks for checking me out! If you want to see more of my work you can find me on Facebook or Instagram: @artofvoid
