Acura Honda Classic Meet 3/23

A few weeks ago we were very fortunate to have been part of the Acura Honda Classic Meet, hosted by Acura of Pembroke Pines on what couldn’t have been a better Sunday morning. The temperature was cool and the sky was looking especially hospitable, considering we’re still in South Florida. Even our drive couldn’t have been more pleasant; the traffic was nearly nonexistant with the exception of a few other neatly modified Hondas, clearly on their way to the same meet.

I recall having quite the welcoming committee, but I’m sure that had more to do with the instantly recognizable bright blue and yellow car on the back of the tow truck we were with… you might know the one. It says Spoon on it, the yellow body panels don’t match and it has tire marks all over it. Some might say it’s a rough car, but the die-hard Honda fans will tell you it’s a legend. And it looked like there were a lot of die-hard Honda fans here, because the car seemed to be quite the popular attraction before even getting off the truck!

Once off the truck, it was a pleasure to see what car we were parked next to - one of the two JUN EK Civics built back in the late 90s or early 00s. This was another icon ‘back in the day’… looking at the two each with their bright two-tone liveries would make a lot of people feel like a young driver again.

Now apart from these cars, there was definitely a gathering of cars that would make most people wish they woke up early upon seeing the pictures. There were about a few dozen NSXs, and at least a few times the phrase, “I’ve never seen so many in one place” was heard. Across from the NSXs were a row of Honda S2000s in all of their varieties. There were plenty of EG and EK Civics in the parking lot, and there was even a whole service area were all the Type Rs parked to be properly showcased. Like the NSXs, the “never seen this many at once” comment was heard. There was even an Integra Type R in the beginning stages what should be a proper restoration on display.

All in all, it was definitely a special meet, you could tell that everyone had been looking forward to this morning for a while. It wasn’t just something to do on a Sunday, it was really a great event to enjoy with people who enjoy similar things… specific things, like well-kept classic Hondas. Hopefully the snapshots here can give you an idea of what was there, but if you want to find more pictures from the event then we’d suggest searching #acurahondaclassic or #AHCMeet on Instagram. Hopefully the next event can be even better!
